DJ Junior is a half Puerto Rican half and Dominican Brooklyn native. His attention to the sounds of music began when he was eight (8) years old. An uncle who used to DJ would rock Turntables Technique 1200 in the basement of their NYC home. Since then DJ Junior has dreamed of becoming a DJ. In 1999 he moved to Miami, Florida and when he got there he got his first pair of turntables and began to rock house parties and pep-rallies at his high school.
DJ Junior’s name started to build around the neighborhood and other local high schools in the area. As his career began to take off; DJ Junior rented a lounge named Gusto’s in Miami Lakes, Florida and started hosting his own parties for high school students in the area. He was then given the name “The Young Crowd Mover” at age of 18 and began to get booked at some of the hottest clubs in Miami. Junior’s inspirations were DJ Red Alert, Grand Master Flash, and Jam Master J.
As a way of promoting his name and skills, he started to create mix-tapes and distributed them locally to his supporters and friends. By 2005, DJ Junior started to gain the fame he worked hard for; he was spinning at major clubs such as Mansion, River Side, Voodoo Lounge and many more. He began to build his name on a national scale and developed his DJ skills, which led him to work on live TV shows such as Mun2, appearances on Rap City, and he played music for the Sufrito Music Festival (Urban Fest).
In 2006, DJ Junior went to Puerto Rico to prepare for one of his biggest gig which was to DJ for an up and coming Reggaeton artist name Tony Dize. Tony Dize was the opening act for one of Reggaeton’s largest celebrities; Wisin Y Yandel.
This year has been a year with a lot of opportunities for him. DJ Junior has had the opportunity to DJ at live shows on a Spanish TV shows such as Despireta America and Escandalo T.V.
